01 Overview

Shadow of the Erdtree is not just a DLC. It is a complete second game built on top of one of the greatest games ever made — and it might be better than the original. FromSoftware took everything that made Elden Ring extraordinary and distilled it into 30–50 hours of the most concentrated, most imaginative, most brutally beautiful game design the studio has ever produced.

"The Realm of Shadow is FromSoftware at the absolute peak of their craft. Every area is a new masterclass."

The Realm of Shadow is a landmass unto itself — six major regions, each with distinct biomes, lore, secrets and a density of content that embarrasses most full-price releases. The new weapon categories alone contain dozens of movesets worth experimenting with for hundreds of hours. At $19.80 on Kinguin, this is one of the best value propositions in gaming history.

03 What you get

Shadow of the Erdtree adds an entirely new landmass — the Realm of Shadow — accessible after defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood. Inside: 8 new legacy dungeons, 10 new Great Enemies and 5 new remembrance bosses, 100+ new weapons across 8 new weapon categories, new Ashes of War, spells, talismans and armour sets.

Content-wise, the DLC runs 30 hours on a focused playthrough. A completionist run with all side dungeons, hidden areas and NPC questlines runs 50–80 hours. At $19.80 on Kinguin that's under $0.40 per hour of high-quality content. There is no better deal in gaming right now.

"Shadow of the Erdtree at $19.80 is the most content-per-dollar you can spend on a game right now. If you've played Elden Ring, buying this is not optional — it's mandatory."
